Kipp & Zonen is a company with a remarkable specialism. They produce measuring instruments for meteorological science, especially those instruments that measure sunlight. ‘Anyone who needs information regarding sunlight is soon pointed towards our measuring instruments. We offer support with highly specific problems,’ Antoinet Mulder explains.

Kipp & Zonen has filled this niche market for more than 175 years. They got acquainted with MCAP many years ago. Antoinet Mulder cannot remember exactly when, but she does remember why: ‘With our measuring instruments we also supply the cables that are needed to connect them. Our instruments require UV-resistant cables. However, the outer casing of the cables we had been using was not sufficiently resistant, which then led to complaints. We then turned to MCAP to help us find a solution. They put a great deal of energy into this problem and demonstrated a highly cooperative attitude. We experienced straight away that MCAP is a highly progressive company.’

This progressive approach helped Kipp & Zonen enormously. ‘It enabled us to sell a better product. The cables can now withstand ten years of outdoor exposure without any sign of deterioration. Furthermore, we have learned a lot ourselves. Since then we have developed a strong, lasting relationship with MCAP. These days, when we are confronted with a problem we pass it on to them almost immediately, and they always get back to us quickly with a solution. We know what we can expect from each other. The relationship between Kipp & Zonen and MCAP can best be described as a very good and open customer-supplier relationship.’
